I was using GPS technology in the mid 90s when my sales team used Delorme Mapping and a data base to make sales calls in areas they were not familiar with. They put the GPS device on the windshield and and the mapping program had real time guidance to the prospects with accuracy. A process that saved a rep 3 weeks to prepare a sales blitz before 8 to 10 reps came into a market to make sales calls.

In 2002, after retiring, I was hired as a contractor to train and market GPS technology to new car dealerships and fleet.

The ROI and value GPS provides is very real, and management don't understand how a device like fleet tracking and reporting using GPS technology can reduce costs for fuel as well as maintenance will kore than justify the costs of using a good GPS product.

I have heard many times from various companies a need for tracking trailers, but the technology was not available or cost affordable. However, I understand there is a product out now that is affordable and uses the energy from the trailer hook-up to the cab that provides power to the gps device for up to a year.

If this is true, I would like to learn more about it.

Thank you,

This shows the basic need for the product. The value of locating the equipment quickly is infinite.
